My NYFW experience

It was a week filled with tears and laughter and sweat. I'm serious I did all three of those things throughout the week if not all at one time!
It started friday I shlepped up to Manhattan to help Jess with the organizing and achieving the emmence task of wordrobing 20+ models in the fab BODYROCKSPORT bras and an incredible selection of everything from jumpsuits to business suits to denim and GAGA inspired leather numbers from euro clothing giant Supertrash. So with rumbling stomachs ( who has time to eat?) and caffine induced focus Jess and myself got everything together for the show that was @ chelsea piers.
Friday was FNO (fashion's night out) So I had a friend meet me in the city after she styled a show that was going on ( http://www.karaandersonhairstyling.com/) and we went and explored. We started in TriBecA and ended up somewhere in rockerfeller center...and in our quest I realized just how MANY Sephoras there are in this city!! Each of wish was have a fabulous party complete with little bottles of Moet and colorful macaroons held by handsome waiters in ebony attire. Every store from Payless to Prada was having a party and it seemed like the city that never sleeps took a no-doze because the mood was positively electric and Im so glad I didnt miss a beat.
Saturday I was supposed to go to the Vivianne Tam show. Unfortunantly I missed it due to some unforseen occurances, and I am still scarred by this because I really wanted to go. But I ended up meeting up with some friends and we ran through the QVC pop up store and had a ball. ( not to mention picked up some free goodies!!)
Monday was the big day for me however, It was the day for the BodyRockSport showcase @ chelsea piers. Jess Myself and the owner Kelly Dooley along with her team worked so hard and it was finally the day!!! Things went smoothly and we all were dressed in out BodyRock and looked fierce. We even ended up on MSNBC thanks to the lovely miss Claire Duffy!

ugh! so much! but it was soo worth it! LOL butI plan on doing it WAY BIGGER next year!

THEEEYYRREE BBAACCKK!!!!
yup. clogs and slides and chunky heeled shoes ala 1993. Only with a 2010 twist. I was NEVER a fan of the clunky-ness and I thought they should have been left in amsterdam where they came from. Lately, however, the throwback trend is growing on me. One, because they're so gosh darn comfy! But they are actually quite chic. My favs are the Fendi Zucca Platform slide (shown) I walked into Bloomies in SoHo today with the specific purpose to find a nude heel that wasnt patent leather or suede..(F.Y.I the ONLY place that has matte leather nude pumps is ALDO...i've been searching for weeks) Anyway I'm completely enamored and smitten with these Fendi slides. I walked into the shoe department and had a mini coronary. Especially with that gold heel. (gold is my new thing, idk why it hasnt always been, it looks great on my skin)I digress.... Steve Madden had a pair that I like that are reasonably priced, and I think this is one trend I might have to get on the bandwagon.

CONSUMER REPORT : FAITH 21

So I must admit i was a serious sceptic about this FAITH21 thing. Forever21's plus size line. Because sometimes people say plus sized and they mean "we added an extra inch onto our small stuff and were calling it plus sized" So I gave them the ultimate test. I went to my Local Forever21 (which i must say I love its new and big and 2 floors) I'm kinda lucky because I can fit a lot of the thier average sized stuff. But i have thighs so taking advantage of thier rediculously cheap jeans have eluded me for so long.....until 2 days ago. I grabed a pair of 16s expecting them to be tight and uncomfortable. I was so wrong!!!!! they were actually big I had to go down a size!!! I was very excited!!! So I am now a believer in the FAITH21 $11.50 skinny jean. Im going back to get all the colors.

Monif. C - Im a Fan.

Im such a fan right now! Monif.C has continued to make a name for herself in the fashion community. Making high quality designer pieces for women size 14 and up. I have plans to go to the manhattan boutique and try on my own Marilyn convertable dress (Shown) it converts to about a gazillion different styles and im dyyying to get my hands on one. I hear Monif herself frequents the shop, so who knows? Maybe I'll get a Meet & Greet. LOL. I'll keep you posted on when i go visit taking lots of pics! Im even thinking about submitting my picture to become a Monif. C model...wouldn't that be fun?
But back to the fashion. her stuff is supremely chic and not to bad price-wise. If you're anything like me you will pay for nice stuff that fits.

The tacky-ness inside of me

So im not even going to try to lie. We all have out guilty pleasures. Mine are suede and Animal prints. fortunantly I have enough sense to balance these two very rich and striking motifs and not to go overboard. But I am not going to sit here and act like my heart isnt about to jump out of my chest everytime i see article after article of how animal print is going to be huge fall season! Especially my favorite print of all...Cheetah. Oh the fashion gods are smiling down on me this year because lord knows im using this up tp the fullest. I promise i will not let the tacky-ness inside of me become fully manifest on the outside, but she will make appearances here and there. Maybe the cheetah print pony hair flats i eyed up at nine west yesterday. Or the Leopard cardigan that just arrived at my local BCBGMAXAZRIA. I said i am going to limit myself to one animal inspired piece per outfit and two of these said outfits per week, so as to not over do it. But I cannot promise that this promise will not quickly be broken. I am fortunant enough to have good friends who will not let me walk out looking like Cheetara from the ThunderCats Even though a cheetah bodysuit might not be that bad........

Sports Bra Chic

My life is moving so fast i feel like i never have time to write! well my mommy just got me a new laptop soooo..i think this is the begining of a new blogging age for me!!! Lots of stuff to talk about, Lets start with how Gabi won the MTV TJ spot! im so happy! i NEED to meet her! i NEED to be her bff. but for now im just one of many of her twitter groupies...well see what happens in the future....
Now More awesomeness. I had the pleasure of recently meeting Kelly Dooley who is this funny energetic woman who has her own Fitness wear line called BODY ROCK SPORT. She sells the most deliciously sinful sportsbras. theyre fun and sparkly and soo not your average sports bra! BODY ROCK SPORT is the home of the worlds most expensive sports bra. The TRENTA is dripping with Swarovski Crystals and it priced at a cool $1850. Maybe not in your fitness budget but awesome none the less. Just adorable stuff! As a new gym go-er ( yea im trying to get my fitness on) Im a fan! and if youre not a fitness girl they are cute enough to wear out on the town. I plan on pairing mine with some skinnys and the AWESOME shredded Tee i got from BCBGMAXAZRIA it has holes in all the right places, a great way to show off your designer duds and free the "girls" from underwire hades. The bra showcased is the ANDREA in the 'Zip em up" collection. Im in love, and to the joy of jersey girls like me it comes in CHEETAH PRINT!!!
