Catch me Slippin'

Today I am sitting in bed. Listening to Channel Orange. This album is so chill. Its so good. An escape from the content-less Beats over lyrics stuff I am so used to. All that stuff is well , goo, and fine and serves is purpose. ( I'm the FIRST one on the floor when "IF YOU A TOP NOTCH....LEMME HEAR YA HOLLA!!")   but sometimes you just need GOOD MUSIC.

Anyway I have some things to share. MY FAVORITE FALL TREND!!!!! I know its early but i cant help it. Right now it is 11:26 am and it is 80 degrees. Boots, scarves, and sweaters should be the farthest thing from my mind right? WRONG! I like to be ahead of the game. This is only one of the trends that i am LOOOOOOVING for fall. It kind of got a kick start this summer season, but it takes a turn for the dramatic this fall. In rich velvets, satins, and suede. What am i speaking of ? SLIPPERS!  More along the line of a Huge Hefner moccasin, most call them smoking slippers.
They look great with pants skirts and dresses. Very much capable of being dressed up or down. Awesome if you have a job like me where you are on your feet all day. They are really comfy.

I have a pair that a bought in my latest Haul . They are bright turquoise and tan. Great for summer. But my heart belongs to fall. Below are some pretty affordable options I've found, then some splurges that I'm drooling over.

In case you didn't notice

As you can see, the name of this blog has changed. I think it more fits with the theme I am trying to go for.
The word Unruly is defined as not submissive or conforming to rule; ungovernable; turbulent;intractable; refractory; lawless. Which I think describes what I am going for to a T. Not only is my HAIR unruly but my FASHION is too. My CURLS are LAWLESS. My STYLE  is UNYIELDING. Its always been this way. But now I can put words to it.
I hope you find the "new" direction to be as liberating as I do.
Ciao Bella(s)

This Conditioner is Bananas B.A.N.A.N.A.S

Hi Dolls!
First I would like to apologize for the cheesy-ness of the title of this post. I'm sorry.Ok so now that that is taken care of....
I just got home from work and I still need to wash my hair. But I wanted to put you up on something before I forgot.
A few days ago I got an excited  mass test from another one of my curly companions (HI RAVIN!) about a new deep condition treatment she was about to whip up in the kitchen. This concoction consisted of Organic banana baby food, honey, whatever deep conditioner you have been using, and some good ol' e.v.o.o. I honestly thought she had accidentally stumbled across a mislabeled muffin recipe but she was serious. I told her to let me know how it went, and she just got back to me tonight.
According to her the stuff is amazing. It made her hair soft and shiny. Plus she smelled like a banana for the rest of the day. That's always a plus.
I decided to try this recipe out myself, because I am getting my color touched up on Saturday and my hair needs to be as hydrated as possible.
I did a little research and you can sub the conditioner with avocado or organic mayonnaise if you want to keep it 100% natural. I'll let you know what I decide when I post up the before and afters.
Attached are the pictures Ravin sent me, and a Youtube video of a girl doing a very similar process.

Ok Dolls, IM OUT!

Back For Good

HI DOLLS!!!!
Ok so its been like 6 months since I last blogged. Which is horrible because in one of my last posts I promised to blog more... whomp whomp. As you can see the page has changed a little bit....
But Im back, with some changes. This is still going to be a fashion based blog but I am making certain life changes that I feel like if I'm able to share it with the world it would be a source of motivation. How vain right? OH WELL...whatever works! LOL.
So to update everyone, as if you didn't already know, I'm a natural haired girl, I'm going on like 2.5 years. I can actually say that I'm loving the progress. My poof is fantastic and straight my hair is about to my shoulders. So within this blog of course there will continue to be fashion but I am also going to include Hair and Skin Hauls, Inspirational moments in my "hair journey" and weight loss tips I deem helpful, cuz lord knows this is gonna be a challenge...oh yea i didn't even mention. I'm trying to shed like A LOT of poundage so...stay tuned. I'm sure there will be blurbs and appearances from all my natural haired besties, you'll get to know them well I'm sure. I'm really excited! (can u tell?) I feel like this is the summer of change. and this time I actually believe it!!!!!
Smooches!!

BEEN TOO LONG

BEEN SO LONG SINCE I'VE POSTED.
Everything has happened....and yet nothing at all. Since I'm home sick I might as well get some much needed blogging done.
It is January 7th, 2012.
I will be 21 in 4 days! How Exciting!!!
I have learned a lot.
1. Stick to your guns. People respect it.
2. Know who your friends are. Never neglect them.
3. Don't lie. Its not worth it
4. It can ALWAYS get worse.
5. It takes way more time to win trust than to loose it. And to try to get it back could take a lifetime.
Just my slight words of wisdom. You live and you learn right?
Some things dont change though.
Im still obsessed with Cheetah print. It has hit a new High ( or low) at cheetahprintdiaries.tumblr.com --- yea thats me. go. follow.enjoy.
One of my new years resolution is to blog more. Not for fame but just because I really enjoyed doing it. I hope you enjoy reading it.

REST IN PEACE

ELIZABETH TAYLOR DIED TODAY.
And I must say I am rather sad. The world lost a great beauty. I remember the first time I saw Cleopatra. My mouth was open the ENTIRE movie. She was just So elegant, and so pretty. I wanted to be her. (I still do) Looking at the pictures of her it makes me want to be more of a lady. To stand straighter, talk softer, move more gracefully. I think that is going to be my resolution. In honor of Miss Liz lets all be more lady-like. Lets cut the screaming and the hollering. The neck snapping and the hair swinging. I want to be one of those women who can tell you off without a curse or a raised voice. Modern day example: Michelle Obama. She looks like one of those women. Lets do it girls! Lets do it for Liz, lets do it for us!

Grammy Highlights and Lowlights

So last night was the grammy's. and I must say I was disappointed. For the most part the fashion was boring. (come on usher, you looked like you were going to the mall.) Bieber looked adorbz in his White tux. And of course Rihanna wore some eye popping monstrosity that had heads turning. I was most disappointed in Lady Gaga, who not only looked a whole hot mess, but gave a very lack luster performance. I expected so much more from her after her MTV awards antics and stellar performances. She half redeemed herself with the insane half suit jacket half leotard ensemble paired with thigh high boots, and this hat I LOVED!!!! but still GAGA you have failed me.
Katy Perry brought along Grandma who was killing it with her bedazzled cane, and valentino dress and bolero. Katy was very valentine's themed with her hearts and glitter "firework" performance and the cupid wings she rocked on the red carpet. Nicki Minaj had Leopard hair...yea. Solidifying all the reasons why I love her. Snooki and drake had a interesting flirtatious moment on the carpet. Then she asked him if he "smushed" Rihanna. His face = priceless. (p.s Drizzy. CUT YOUR HAIR!!, you had the freshest cut in the game. PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME REGRET LOVING YOU LIKE I DO.)

I have no words for the following people. Ceelo (Tucan Sam) Green, Janelle ( I only have 1 suit) Monae, and Dr. (It took me 30 minutes to peel this leather jacket on) Dre. I will say that Janelle is starting to grow on me. She still irks me though.

Biggest upset by far had to be that the Biebs walked away empty handed. There was a resounding "WHO????" that echoed throughout numerous households when Esparanza Spalding walked away with the coveted "Best New Artist" award.
My FAVORITE PERFORMANCES go to (In this order) 1. Joleen (Dolly P. tribute) performed by Nora Jones, John Mayer and Keith Urban. 2. Bruno Mars- Grenade ( HE HAS GOT TO RELEASE THAT VERSION!!) 3. Justin Bieber & Jayden Smith (ITS JUST SO MUCH ADORABLE-NESS!!!) 4. Christina A, J-Hud, Martina McBride, and Yolanda Adams Aretha Franklin Tribute. Christina gives me goose bumps, even if she doesn't know the words to the national anthem....and finally, 4. Rihanna & Eminem ( while it was great, Im just really OVER that song.)

My "REALLY?!?!" moment came from Lady Antebellum's "Tribute" to Teddy Pendergrass. A tribute which included the chorus to "If you don't know me by now." .....then ended. I like Lady Antebellum, "Need you know" was my jam. But singing 1 line of a 1 line chorus does NOT constitute as a tribute!! so.. REALLY LADY ANTEBELLUM?!?! REALLY!!?!?!?. And thats all I have to say about that. (Forrest Gump voice)
All in all, this years Grammy's was a #FAIL.

The Emmy's is up next. I can't say I have high hopes. I guess MTV is running the award show game these days..... #sigh.

Bow Tie Me Up

This is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. I modern twist on something classic. Executed with precision and an obvious passion. I'm talking about The Art of EMJ. I was introduced to this duo of charisma during my time at the NOLCHA fashion lounge yesterday. I was blown away by how much I LOVED this creation. Leather bow ties. Doesn't really sound like the almost awesome thing ever. But it is. I found myself wondering why I hadn't seen these in GQ. They're AMAZING! I want to buy one for every man I know. I'm even thinking about getting one for myself and turning it into a bracelet :). I respect the comeback of the bow tie. Especially if the Guys of EMJ are the ones ushering the comeback. The founder and creator Eric M Jenkins is this polished, chic, urban powerhouse of confidence. (Think Common meets Fonsworth Bentley with a light coating of Kanye) His Bio is impressive, I encourage you to read. The Brand representative that accompanied him, Vito C. Williams has equally as much presence. I feel a bow tie revolution coming on.
Follow @TheArtOfEmj & check his blog. Its pretty fantastic. http://theartofemj.wordpress.com/

Girl Crushing

No i'm serious! I.want.to.be.her. How fab is she? Amber Riley is my fav character from GLEE. She has a dynamite voice and shes just so cute! Derek Blanks really hooked up her photoshoot, and in March she is gracing the pages of ESSENCE.
I want her hair, I want her dress. I want her shoes. ( Hide yo kids Hide yo wife just popped into my head.) Some dude on twitter just said she was "slaying it"in this particular photoshoot. I dont think I could have found more appropriate words :)

MAKING LIVES SWEETER WORLDWIDE

Born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, Megan “Cupcake Meg” Schmidt always had dreams of one day contributing to the world in a big way." That is the way the Bio portion of CupcakeMeg.com begins. I was first introduced to this fundraising initiative via twitter through mutual friends of Meg and my own that attended Hampton U in VA. So in my exploration of what CupcakeMeg really was I found myself admiring this girl who is the same age as me, who's main goal in life is to help those in need. Specifically children in developing countries. What first drew me to the site were these adorable T-shirts my friends had begun wearing. At first I went to the site because I really wanted a T-shirt. But after I read what it was all about I had a renewed sense of pride in my generation. That there are still good people in the world who care about people other than themselves. I am waiting for the "SHOP" section of the website to become up and running so I can buy myself a Tee. But if you live in New York, the next time you are in Brooklyn, stop by Swagger360 (887 Fulton Street btwn Vanderbilt and Clinton Avenues) and cop yourself a Tee for a good cause.I say thats not to shabby for a girl from brooklyn who hustled cupcakes from her dorm...not to shabby at all. I'll be sure to post me in my Tee when I get it. :)

Bryanna Loves the Kids!!!

So a friend of mine had an idea. An idea to create his own Children's cartoon centered around education by means of music. Thus, "The Skunk and Munk show was born." I love it because it's unique, fresh, cool, and downright genius. I realize the close relationship that music and fashion have always had, and i realize that the next generation are the ones who are going to be dressing my children, and making the music that my son or daughter listens to. So with that being said I invite you to read the following excerpt from Morrismegamedia.com regarding the Skunk and Munk Show.

"The Skunk and Munk Show" is a multi-media musical sitcom geared towards entertaining while educating todays youth. Utilizing music as the driving force of the show, mediums such as animation and comic book art provide the visual connection to the audio. Set in an imaginary place called "Soundtown" (based on Willingboro New Jersey) there lives two best friends, Skunk and Munk. These two young kids run the website www.skunkandmunktv.com, where they broadcast "The Skunk and Munk Show" from their clubhouse showing the latest home-jam videos, interviewing local artist, and discussing current events.

Soundtown is a special place filled with many different, colorful and talented characters. Everything in Soundtown,in one way or another, has a connection to music. Not to long ago, everyone kept their ears glued too Station Soundtown to hear "real music" played by the legendary Oldschool until the station was bought out by the diabolical Dr.Doughnut. Ever since then, the airwaves have been clogged with "Villian Music", forcing Skunk and Munk to take a stand-thus spawning "The Skunk and Munk Show".

Intrigued yet?? You should be. If you want to learn more about skunk and munk click this link to morrismegamedia.com And be sure to witness the birth of "Skunk and Monk" on 3-20-11
Now check out the trailer.....

FASHION OF PHILLY

The great thing about the Internet is that you literally have all the information in the world at your fingertips. I google everything from Toni (my iPhone). I don't even know how I would go about functioning if I couldn't know what was going on right now just by clicking a few icons. It's fabulous and sad all at the same time.
Where I live in New jersey, Our style, the way we talk, the things we do, is highly influenced by the near by city of Philadelphia. To keep me up on the latest events and trends one of my favorite sites, which just happens to be written by a friend of mine (S/o Brittiny Stewart!) is www.fashionofphilly.com
With a fresh take on trends and always up on the current sales, whether it be small private boutiques, or large retail giant,s this site will keep you up on it all! You Will dig Brittiny's "Cool chick down the block" vibe while getting schooled on whats good (and maybe not so good) on the streets of Philly and the surrounding areas.
It's definitely a Bookmarker for the comp and a valued tool for fashion forward visitors to the fine city of Brotherly Love!

My NYFW experience

It was a week filled with tears and laughter and sweat. I'm serious I did all three of those things throughout the week if not all at one time!
It started friday I shlepped up to Manhattan to help Jess with the organizing and achieving the emmence task of wordrobing 20+ models in the fab BODYROCKSPORT bras and an incredible selection of everything from jumpsuits to business suits to denim and GAGA inspired leather numbers from euro clothing giant Supertrash. So with rumbling stomachs ( who has time to eat?) and caffine induced focus Jess and myself got everything together for the show that was @ chelsea piers.
Friday was FNO (fashion's night out) So I had a friend meet me in the city after she styled a show that was going on ( http://www.karaandersonhairstyling.com/) and we went and explored. We started in TriBecA and ended up somewhere in rockerfeller center...and in our quest I realized just how MANY Sephoras there are in this city!! Each of wish was have a fabulous party complete with little bottles of Moet and colorful macaroons held by handsome waiters in ebony attire. Every store from Payless to Prada was having a party and it seemed like the city that never sleeps took a no-doze because the mood was positively electric and Im so glad I didnt miss a beat.
Saturday I was supposed to go to the Vivianne Tam show. Unfortunantly I missed it due to some unforseen occurances, and I am still scarred by this because I really wanted to go. But I ended up meeting up with some friends and we ran through the QVC pop up store and had a ball. ( not to mention picked up some free goodies!!)
Monday was the big day for me however, It was the day for the BodyRockSport showcase @ chelsea piers. Jess Myself and the owner Kelly Dooley along with her team worked so hard and it was finally the day!!! Things went smoothly and we all were dressed in out BodyRock and looked fierce. We even ended up on MSNBC thanks to the lovely miss Claire Duffy!

ugh! so much! but it was soo worth it! LOL butI plan on doing it WAY BIGGER next year!

US ON MSNBC!!!

THEEEYYRREE BBAACCKK!!!!
yup. clogs and slides and chunky heeled shoes ala 1993. Only with a 2010 twist. I was NEVER a fan of the clunky-ness and I thought they should have been left in amsterdam where they came from. Lately, however, the throwback trend is growing on me. One, because they're so gosh darn comfy! But they are actually quite chic. My favs are the Fendi Zucca Platform slide (shown) I walked into Bloomies in SoHo today with the specific purpose to find a nude heel that wasnt patent leather or suede..(F.Y.I the ONLY place that has matte leather nude pumps is ALDO...i've been searching for weeks) Anyway I'm completely enamored and smitten with these Fendi slides. I walked into the shoe department and had a mini coronary. Especially with that gold heel. (gold is my new thing, idk why it hasnt always been, it looks great on my skin)I digress.... Steve Madden had a pair that I like that are reasonably priced, and I think this is one trend I might have to get on the bandwagon.

Outfit post to follow....lol

CONSUMER REPORT : FAITH 21

So I must admit i was a serious sceptic about this FAITH21 thing. Forever21's plus size line. Because sometimes people say plus sized and they mean "we added an extra inch onto our small stuff and were calling it plus sized" So I gave them the ultimate test. I went to my Local Forever21 (which i must say I love its new and big and 2 floors) I'm kinda lucky because I can fit a lot of the thier average sized stuff. But i have thighs so taking advantage of thier rediculously cheap jeans have eluded me for so long.....until 2 days ago. I grabed a pair of 16s expecting them to be tight and uncomfortable. I was so wrong!!!!! they were actually big I had to go down a size!!! I was very excited!!! So I am now a believer in the FAITH21 $11.50 skinny jean. Im going back to get all the colors.
